BANGKOK — A limited-edition toothpaste inspired by Thailand’s iconic Thai tea has gone viral online after a collaboration between SALZ and the popular Thai tea brand ChaTraMue. The new product, SALZ Salted Thai Tea toothpaste, combines the fragrance of ChaTraMue’s Thai tea with SALZ’s signature fine salt formula. The brand said the concept was designed to turn everyday toothbrushing into a “favourite moment” with the familiar aroma of Thai tea. According to promotional posts on SALZ’s social media, the toothpaste features a Thai tea scent while maintaining the brand’s salty formula, which helps reduce plaque and freshen breath. The product also contains 1,500 ppm fluoride to help prevent tooth decay. The unusual flavour quickly attracted attention on social media, with many users sharing their reactions after trying it. One netizen who tested the toothpaste said the smell and colour strongly resemble Thai tea, but the taste remains salty like regular SALZ toothpaste. “When you open it, the smell of Thai tea hits immediately. The colour looks just like Thai tea too, but the taste is still the usual salty toothpaste. Don’t accidentally swallow it because the aroma is spot-on,” the user wrote. The product has also drawn attention abroad. A Japanese resident in Thailand posted about the Thai tea–flavoured toothpaste on X, describing it as a souvenir worth taking back to Japan because Thai tea from ChaTraMue is already popular among Japanese consumers.
