BMA system halves waits at junctions

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has rolled out an Adaptive Control traffic signal system to ease congestion at two of the city's busiest intersections -- Phra Khanong and Sukhumvit 71 (Pridi Banomyong). The system adjusts traffic signals in real time based on vehicle flow and has already cut average waiting times from 12 minutes to six minutes.
