18 year old student slashed and robbed in Chonburi

CHONBURI — 2 February 2026, An 18-year-old vocational student was critically injured after being attacked with a knife and robbed of his motorcycle in Bang Lamung district on Monday morning, police said. At about 07:00, police from Huai Yai Police Station were alerted to an assault and robbery inside the Ban Suan Map Charoen area, Moo 2, Khao Mai Kaew subdistrict. Investigators, along with rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation in Pattaya, rushed to the scene. The 18-year-old victim is a third-year vocational student at a technology college in Bang Lamung district and was found lying in a pool of blood on a dirt clearing beside the road. He was wearing his student uniform at the time. Police investigate and photograph the scene of the crime, pointing to a nearby flipflop as evidence. Rescue workers said the victim had sustained a deep slash wound to the right side of his neck, a stab wound beneath the chin, and a cut to his right ear. He was given first aid at the scene before being rushed to Pattaya Patmakun Hospital in critical condition. Mr. Siraphat told police that he had been riding his black Honda Wave 125 motorcycle home to collect equipment for an examination when he was attacked. He said that about 300 m from his house, a Thai man walking along the roadside suddenly ran toward him and kicked his motorcycle, causing it to lose control and crash. The victim said he attempted to fight back but was stabbed in the neck. The attacker then attempted to restrain him and slashed him repeatedly with a knife. Mr. Siraphat said he struggled to escape and ran toward his home before collapsing from his injuries at the entrance to the property. Residents later came to his aid, prompting the suspect to flee with the motorcycle. The victim’s mother said through tears that her son had stayed overnight at a friend’s house after an exam the previous day. He was returning home that morning to collect items for another examination when the attack occurred. She urged police to quickly track down the suspect and bring him to justice. Pol. Lt. Col. Prakasit Phaladej, an investigator at Huai Yai Police Station, said officers recovered a knife believed to have been used in the attack. The knife, measuring about 10–12 cm in blade length, was found about 300 m from where the victim was discovered and was seized as evidence. Police have coordinated with investigators to canvass the area and review CCTV footage in an effort to identify and arrest the suspect.
